What is Girls on Grapes?
Girls on Grapes is a women's wine tasting club that began meeting in March 2008 in Asheville, North Carolina. Girls on Grapes is based on the premise that the more we know about wine (and the more we taste it!), the more enjoyable our hobby becomes! Our goal is to remove the pretense and learn the best way to have our own intimate experience with wine, through education, tastings and friendship! Each month we’ll have a theme (see current schedule below). We’ll taste, on average, 5 different wines during our tasting. Jessica will guide us through the meeting, but don’t worry, there’ll be plenty of time to socialize, too!
Where and when are meetings held?
Currently, Girls on Grapes meets the third Thursday and the fourth Wednesday of each month from 7 to 8:30 pm at Hops & Vines (West Asheville). But please, always check the current schedule of meetings below for changes.
How much does it cost to become a member?
Annual membership to Girls on Grapes is $25. In addition, members are asked to pay between $5-7 to cover the cost of wine at tastings. Non-members are welcome to join us at a tasting for $10.
What does membership include?
Membership to Girls on Grapes includes a t-shirt (1st year members), a 10% discount on selected wines at Hops & Vines and 20% discounts on all wine classes held by Asheville Wine Consulting. Members also enjoy private invitations to field trips, and members-only celebrations throughout the year. In addition, 10% of your membership dollars go to local women's charity.
